Cité Europe shopping complex

The Cité Europe shopping complex was designed by the architect Paul Andreu. It represents an archway of light crossing over a vault that in turn represents the Tunnel.

Opened in 1995, with a surface area of 73000 m² accessible to the public, it houses :

12 supermarket-size stores,
120 boutiques,
2 leisure centres,
1 food hall (Cité gourmande) comprising 20 restaurants, and 4200 parking spaces.

In 2005, almost 8 million people visited the site, 35% of whom were British.

Gaumont cinema complex

The 12-screen Gaumont cinema complex, also opened in March 1995, covers a surface area of around 6000 m².

Marques avenue

Opened in December 2003, Marques avenue Cote d’Opale is the first shopping centre with European ambition. It houses 10 000 m² of designer outlets.

Luxury goods are sold with a 30% discount and the complex includes :

57 clothing and household goods designer outlets,
2 restaurants
and 800 parking spaces.

In 2005, 1.5 million people visited the site.

The Terrasses de Coquelles business park is a location of distinction sitting in the heart of the Eurotunnel Terminal. The very mention of this name indicates exactly where we are situated and how easy it is to access the site. The road and rail infrastructure that came with the construction project of the century is of the finest quality.

In short, the Terrasses de Coquelles sits directly on the A16 motorway, a short distance away from the A26 and just 5 minutes from the high-speed TGV train station in Fréthun. Two slip roads lead directly onto the business park.

To reach Paris, London or Brussels it takes just over 2 hours by car but only 90 minutes by high-speed train and EUROSTAR.

Lille, the regional capital, is only one hour away by motorway and only 30 minutes by high-speed train ".

The Channel Tunnel and its French Terminal

This transport system enables both people and goods to travel between France and the UK on high-speed trains in the small matter of 30 minutes.

These two terminals alone represent the two biggest European civil engineering projects undertaken in the eighties and nineties ".

The French Terminal occupies almost a third of the Coquelles commune’s surface area.

Construction work took on titanic proportions. One of the most impressive characteristics was the 11 million cubic metres of earth displaced, seven times the volume of the Great pyramid of Giza itself, the largest in Egypt. The engineering structures alone total almost 60 000 square metres of bridges and 5 km of platforms.
